A major accolade for SWG Friedrichshafen: the construction project at Fallenbrunnen 16 has been awarded the prize for ‘Exemplary Construction’ by the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects. The seven modern residential and commercial buildings, which were completed in 2023, impress with their sustainable concept, flexible use and successful combination of living, working and community.
‘This award is a great honour for our entire team,’ says our managing director Alrik von Kolzenberg. ‘It shows what is possible when commitment, quality and vision come together.’
A diverse neighbourhood with 119 modern apartments, spacious office space, a hotel and a kindergarten was created on the approximately 1.5-hectare site of a former military area. It was particularly important to SWG to create high-quality yet affordable living space – many of the apartments are subsidised or occupied through the municipal housing subsidy programme.
The jury also praised the project as a ‘robust and adaptable system’ that can respond to future needs and impresses with its open space design, integration of green spaces and sustainable energy supply.
For us, the project is a milestone in our history – an example of what innovative housing construction in Friedrichshafen can look like today: forward-looking, well thought-out and with real added value for our city and its residents.
